 Can the Bills win a championship this year? And if so, what do they have to do?

iIbelieve they can and probably WILL win the American Football Conference East.  They have perhaps the best special teams unit in the AFC, an underrated defense, a good running back, and an excellent emerging quarterback in Trent Edwards.

need to stay healthy... most of the preseason AFC favorites have all been hit hard by injuries, which has opened the door up for everyone else... NE, SD, IND... the bills aren't good enough to overcome key injuries (no one is)... if Trent goes down, the step down to Losman would be catastrophic...

need to win the division... two wins over the pats would be very sweet, but a 1-1 split could probably be enough when you line the Pats remaining schedule up next to the Bills... a split would make the next divisional tiebreaker go to Conf record, which the bills have an early lead on (having lost to AZ from NFC, while the Pats fell to MIA & SD from the AFC)...

NE (4-2, with 2 AFC losses): STL, @IND, BUF, NYJ, @MIA, PIT, @SEA, @OAK, ARZ, @BUF
BUF (5-1, with 0 AFC losses): @MIA, NYJ, @NE, CLE, @KC, SF, MIA, @NYJ, @DEN, NE

need to take advantage of a relatively soft schedule to get a first round bye in the playoffs (maybe even homefield throughout)...

Titans (6-0): IND, GB, @CHI, @JAX, NYJ, @DET, CLE, @HOU, PIT, @IND

Steelers (5-1, 0 losses AFC): NYG, @WAS, IND, SD, CIN, @NE, DAL, @BAL, @TEN, CLE

both look more formidable than...  

Bills (5-1, 0 losses AFC): @MIA, NYJ, @NE, CLE, @KC, SF, MIA, @NYJ, @DEN, NE

i don't think any team would be too excited for a January trip to Buffalo... so homefield would be huge...
