Tampa Bay Rays

My prayers have been answered.  The Boston Red Sox are not in the World Series.  I cannot tell you how happy I am that they lost to the Rays.  I am sick of the Sox fan.  You've had 5 years of winning and 86 years of losing, and you've become more annoying than the Yankee fan.  At least the Yankees have a real tradition of winning.  Show some humility and admit that the Rays were the better team.  It was great to see the Rays win game 7.  They really deserved it.  Aside from the collapse in game 5 they really played great baseball.  Hitting, pitching, and defense were all there. The worst to first season continues into the World Series.

  Ok, so I wasn't there when Barry Bonds broke the home-run record.  I wasn't there when Cal Ripken passed Lou Gehrig in most consecutive games played (although I saw both on television as they happened) and the piece of history I witnessed is not nearly as glamorous as either of those two events.  However, I was there tonight.  I can already hear the wheels turning. "What the heck happened tonight?" asks the die-hard baseball fan who happened upon my article.  Tonight was the first time in MLB history that an instant replay was used to review a home-run call.

arks the start of the 2008 season where anything is can happen.  It is a season where even the Tampa Bay Rays can contend for fourth place.  It is a season where the impossible turns into the possible.  Just listen to Ryan Dempster of the Chicago Cubs make a bold prediction, “I think we are going to win the World Series. I really do.”  Great, just what a Cubs fans need to hear, another prediction.
