As die hard as they come

Who am I?

My name is Tom. I am a huge Bills fan. I was raised a Giants fan by my family, and I was actually rooting for the Giants over the Bills in the Super Bowl. For some reason, after that game, I became a Bills fan. I think it was a combination of the heart the Bills players had and the dedication of the fans. I would now consider myself a die hard fan.

Buffalo Bills, Golf, Heavy Metal, Howard Stern, Jason Ellis, Sirius Radio

Bills are rolling posted on 09/29/2008

This team has me so excited.  The Bills haven't been even close to this good in a very long time.  They are even good in the 4th quarter, which seemed to be the biggest problem over these depressing years of bad teams.

A lot of people are discrediting this team because of the teams played.  I don't think that's valid, because 4 consecutive wins is extremely hard to do in the NFL, especially right out of the gates when the players are still shaking out the cobwebs.  It really seemed like the Rams and Raiders were playing better than in previous weeks, like they were trying to prove that they weren't as bad as everybody says.  They may have also been trying to save there coach in the Raiders case.  I don't think the Rams were though, as half that team is probably still partying after hearing the news of Linehan being fired.

2-0 Baby!!! posted on 09/17/2008

Back to back wins against playoff teams!!  I'm starting to get really pumped about this season.  Comeback wins in opposing team stadiums aren't done by bad teams.  Not much to compain about after this win either.  The only things to complain about, as far as the team goes, was some sloppy tackling and not many deep balls.  I can understand not going deep against a team as good defensively as the Jaguars though.

I do have  major gripe against the refs, or maybe just the rules in general.  The play I'm upset about didn't end up affecting the end of the game, but it really could have.  I'm talking about the last play of the game, which was reviewed and ruled a forward lateral so time was ran off the clock.  The initial call was a fumble and Bills ball.  The play was ended in bounds with 3 seconds left on the clock, so it should have been Buffalo's ball with 3 seconds, leaving Trent to just neal on the ball.  Well the refs decided to review it, which stops the clock.  Theoretically, if the play had been reversed, and the ball given to the Jags, they would have been given a chance to run another play, even though the play ended in bounds.  That really is something I could see the Bills getting screwed over on too.  How many times have we been screwed over on stuff like that over the years?  Maybe it's a good sign though, that bad things like that don't happen to this team.  Perhaps this is the team that finally gives Buffalo what they've wanted for so many years.  I'm not gonna say it, because I don't want to be the one that jinxes the team, but I think you know what I'm talking about.

Bills-Seahawks and Bills-Jags prediction posted on 09/12/2008

I had pretty good seats for the home opener, 3rd row end zone on the scoreboard side.  It was my girlfriend, my buddy AJ and me, and obviously we had a blast.

That's a video of AJ and me celebrating Royals TD grab right in front of us.  We were losing our minds, as all the pregame shows led us to believe it would be a tight game.  The Bills abused and embarrased the recently perennial playoff team.  I take the game as a sign of great things this year.  The Defense looked great, and special teams was phenomanal as usual.

I have a few minor complaints of offense though.  Trent looked shaky early on in the game, but he turned it on later.  I'm hoping it was just him shaking off the rust, but I'm worried it may be him struggling through bad weather.  It would very bad to have a starting QB in Buffalo that can't play in bad weather.  Also, I would like to see Marshawn get 25 carries a game, just because he's so unbelievably good, and he can wear down defenses like no other.  All in all, I come away from week 1 with a very good feeling and it looks like Whitner may come through on his guarentee.

The Bills and me posted on 09/12/2008

As most fans know, the Bills get no love from the media.  I'm here to do my part to change all that.  I'm gonna try to post at least once a week on here, as long as everybody finds me entertaining.  I'll make my first post a brief history of why I love the Bills

It all started with me being raised as a Giants fan.  My dad is actually a Rams fan, but everybody esle in my immediate family are all Giants fans.  I actually rooted for the Giants in Super Bowl XXV, but never again after that game.  I remember being impressed by the Bills character and heart, and how dedicated the fans were.  Ever since then, I have been in love with the Bills.

I try to get to at least a few games a year, which is no small feat, living 3 hours away, but I feel it is weel worth it.  Luckily for me, my girlfriend is a huge Bills fan too.  The best thing is I don't ever get yelled at for going to the games or screaming at the TV, because she's always right next to me doing the same thing.   She wasn't alwas a Bills fan, when I first met her, she claimed to be a "Jets fan."  Her only reason for liking the Jets was that she likes the color green.  She decided last year for my birthday to take me to the Bills-Jets game in Buffalo.  She absolutley loved the experience and now she actually follows the Bills and is a true fan.
